Gold Britannias
Gold bullion Britannia coins are the United Kingdom’s most sought-after CGT exempt 1 oz gold coins. The Royal Mint first introduced Britannias in 1987. These British gold bullion coins carry a face value of £100. From 1987 to 2012, the coins were minted in 22-carat gold (0.9167 fineness). However, since 2013, the coins have been struck in 24-carat gold (0.9999 fineness). Regardless of whether they are minted in 22-carat or 24-carat gold, each coin contains one troy ounce of gold.
